I jetted home for roughly 24 hours to switch my bags and head out to Courmayer to start my attempt along with Graham Bell at Mt Blanc with BBC ski sunday filming. It was a gruelling task, we left the Refugio Torino at 11pm and trekked through the night carrying our skis for 16 hours across glaciers, crevaces and climbed some really steep slopes with our ice axes and ropes. The route from the Refugio Torino is much longer are more difficult than coming from the French side and it wasn't long before I was cursing why, on my first attempt was I doing it this way. However without giving too much away it was a hugely challenging 16 hours which should make for a great feature on ski sunday this winter.
My next event was back home in the Highlands where my hometown Aviemore had arranged a reunion ice hockey match between the Aviemore Blackhawks and the Aviemore Blues, I turned out for the Blues in the game which was played at Inverness ice rink. The Blues ran out winners 12-8 beating the older Blackhawks. It was a great event, fantastic to see all the old stars of Aviemore ice hockey back together giving it their all on the ice also great for probably the biggest crowd ever seen in the Inverness rink.
Now as I try to get my breath back I will be back into my fitness regime in preparation for my next ski camp in Saas Fee on the 22nd July where I will be on my new Rossignol skis!!! Well excited!!
