Yesterday I raced in the combined here in Are, Sweden, still in the freezing temperatures!
In the morning we raced downhill which I felt I really skied quite well and to be honest I was disappointed when I saw my time in the finish, however I feel like I'm getting a lot stronger in the DH so I feel like I am making good progress towards being able to compete for a top result in the combined.
In the slalom I skied a solid and stable run but just didn’t let my skis go enough and I feel even though I skied well it wasn’t my top performance, great training for the slalom though. Eventually I finished in 25th place which is not bad I guess, but I had been aiming to repeat my top 15 performance of last year in the Olympics.
Now I'm taking some time to get fresh again and ready for the slalom and GS next week, so hopefully the weather and the great conditions will hold up.
